Globe Bank, Providence
Founded October, 1831. It became the Globe National Bank of Providence, charter #1126, on May 9, 1865. It was liquidated voluntarily on July 12, 1899.
Not to be confused with the Globe Bank of Woonsocket.

The Globe on the second floor at the Franklin Lyceum Building, 56 Westminster Street. Also occupied by the Grocers & Producers Bank. Completed in November, 1858, this structure was home to the Franklin Lyceum. It had a large statue of Benjamin Franklin on its façade. Demolished in 1926 to make way for the new Providence National Bank building, when the lot was number 90. This image is from a rental receipt from the Lyceum Building, dated July 1, 1864.
