This appears to be a genuine note dated four years after this institution failed. The names of “C. Kean” and “P.J. Rufsell,” signed at bottom, are not officially connected to the bank, according to a search of the records. Possibly this was a remainder that some fraudster filled out contemporaneously in an attempt to pass it as something from a solvent institution.
